We finally have more news regarding the upcoming Radeon RX 500 series.

AMD Radeon RX 500 in April

Let’s start with the launch date. According to Heise.de, AMD is planning to unveil it’s RX 500 series in April. The launch will be split into two parts, each for different performance segment.

That said, on April 4th Radeon RX 580 and Radeon RX 570 will be available for sale. A week later, on April 11th AMD will unveil its Radeon RX 560 and Radeon RX 550 series. All cards, except RX 550, are most likely rebranded from Radeon RX 400 series.

Upate: A new report suggests that Radeon RX 500 series will launch on April 18th.

AMD Radeon RX Vega will not be released in April, which somehow aligns with our initial information, that Radeon 500 series are expected in May. So in other words, expect Radeon RX 500 rebrands in April and Vega a month or two later.

Okay, but let’s go back to RX 500, here’s what we’ve learned. The Radeon RX 580 will be rebranded from RX 480. The new model will receive a moderate clock speed bump to 1340 MHz. That’s 74 MHz more than RX 480. Meanwhile, the RX 570 is said to be 38 MHz faster than RX 470. Of course, those are just the reference clocks and they might be changed as we get closer to the launch. Both RX 580 and RX 570 will be available in 4GB and 8GB variants.

In entry-level segment, we expect Radeon RX 560 to be rebranded from Radeon RX 460 with 1024 Stream Processors (but that’s unconfirmed). We do however have information that RX 560 may be clocked at 1287 MHz (87 MHz above RX 460).

There is one more card mentioned by Heise, which is RX 550. This model is most likely equipped with Polaris 12, a new low-end GPU, which is just as mysterious as Vega11.
